    7. Select a secret question and type in the question answer. (This will be needed if you ever forget your personal password. See "Lost Password" section below.)

    8. Then you need to read the user agreement, and click on "I agree --create profile" button at the bottom of the page.

    9. You should see a screen that says, "Finish." Now you are ready to submit your first assignment. You can click on "Log in to Turnitin" if you are ready to submit an assignment.

(See the "What to Do if You Are Experiencing Difficulties Submitting a Paper" section below if you can't figure things out.)

    9. Log out (top of screen).

    3. Follow the directions in Section III, Step C, onwards.

    4. You may re-submit a paper. You might want to do this if you think of something you want to change on your essay before the submission deadline. Your new submission will overwrite your previous submission.

  5. Lost Password

    1. If you don’t remember your password, click “forgot your password” (upper right corner). Input the e-mail address that they have for you on file. Click the “Next" link.

    2. Follow instructions. (You can skip the “secret question” stuff, and instead click the “click here” blue link below the empty boxes.) An e-mail reset will be sent to your e-mail address.

    3. Be sure to check your “junk mail” folder for the e-mail from Turnitin.com if it doesn’t arrive in your main mail folder. This e-mail is time sensitive, but the process can be repeated if necessary.

  6. What to Do if You Are Experiencing Difficulties Submitting a Paper

    1. Be sure to e-mail your teacher (PrepEnglish@yahoo.com) or leave a voicemail message (707-965-6759) before the submission deadline.

    2. Explain the steps you have attempted and the difficulties you have experienced.

    3. If possible, attach (or copy and paste) the completed assignment to an e-mail message before the deadline.

    4. By doing these things before the deadline, you will be demonstrating that you are being responsible about meeting your obligations.

    5. REMEMBER: Assignments submitted after the deadline are not accepted by Turnitin.com. (You do not need to contact me after missing a deadline just to offer excuses for not organizing your time wisely enough to get the assignment completed on time.)
