reading of Evangeline. Continue work on vocab words. Hmwk:
Do some background reading about the historical event upon which
Evangeline is based. Write out notes (in your own words,
in your own handwriting, with source/s) to bring to class. (This
is what you will turn in for credit.) Be prepared to share what
you discover. Write out spelling words missed on final exam 25 times.

31 [Reflections on inauguration. Inauguration means "1)
Formal induction into office" (American Heritage). The verb,
inaugurate, comes from the Latin, inaugurare meaning
"to practice augury," which is "the practice of divination"
(Webster's) OR write a memory of a childhood place]. Collect final
exam spelling words written out 25 times. Check off evidence of
background reading (notes). Share with classmates what you discovered
on the historical background of Evangeline. (File in Notes
section of English notebook). Continue reading Evangeline.
