This section of History 134 will follow the history of the United states through American Civil War. To do this we will use a biographical approach. We will look at selective individuals merely as touch points to help provide a framework or context to the story of America's early past.

2. Daily Quizzes/Discussion Question Answers:
Your daily quiz score will consist of quizzes on daily reading assignments or discussion question answers. Quizzes cannot be made up. Unexcused absences will result in the score of 0. Excused absences will be averaged into your quiz score.
3. Book Reviews:
Two 2-3 page book reviews.
* Review of Benjamin Franklin's Autobiography, due October 22.
* Review of Frederick Douglass, due November 7.
* Review of The Stamp of Glory, due November 26.
4. Tri-term Exams: October 12 & November 9 .
** All late work will be penalized 20% and must be turned in within one week of the original due date.
** Exams must be made up within one (1) week of test date and will vary from the original test.

A 93-100 B- 80-82 D+ 67-69
A- 90-92 C+ 77-79 D 63-66
