All tests and quizzes must be taken the first time by the deadline indicated in this syllabus else the privilege of taking that test or quiz goes away forever. Quizzes not taken the first time by the deadline will receive a zero with no possibility of makeup.
A Special Assignment, worth 100 points, will be due Wednesday before dead week. This is a team assignment. The assignment is graded as if each person in the team did equal amounts of work. Each day the assignment is late, 10 points will be deducted. Teams that have not been registered with the teacher will receive a deduction and teams that are larger than 4 or smaller than three will receive a deduction.
Tests and quizzes will be given on the computer in the Biology Department. A maximum of eight individuals will be able to take their exams or quizzes at any given time. Thus, the exam/quizzes will be given over several days. It is the student's duty to take the test/quiz before the deadline, and not wait until the last minute to take the exam/quiz. Each test and quiz given on the computer may be taken twice. The highest grade of the two will be recorded. All such tests and quizzes must be completed by 10 p.m. Wednesday, of test week.
Because the tests and quizzes given on the computer can be taken twice, these materials will generally NOT be available for observation by the student. If you find that you are studying very hard but are not getting the grades on the tests and quizzes that you expect, come in to my office and we will try to ascertain what the problem might be. This might include looking at some of the answers on your tests and quizzes.
All the computer tests will be given in CH 302. Your PUC identification card will be necessary for taking the tests and quizzes.
